Daniel Does: Sault Sainte Marie

Daniel Does: Sault Sainte Marie

We had a walking day... We walked like maniacs all over town.  We stopped for a break from the rain at a boat museum.  They had old stuff... I thought it was from the 18th century but my Mom and Mad said it was from the 1950s!  At least I was only 2 centuries off!...

We were waking and walking and walking and we couldn't seem to find a restaurant.  I was trying to say that we could just buy some things at the grocery store, and then it happened... We found a restaurant... Arturo's.  When I looked at the menu I said “uh-oh there is nothing for me to eat here!”...

Passing Through Sault Sainte Marie... The City That Connects The Lakes

Passing Through Sault Sainte Marie... The City That Connects The Lakes

The “locks”… we’ve heard a lot about them… What are they?  How do they work?  We were keen to see the locks that allow boats to safely pass between Lake Huron and Lake Superior in action and learn about how they operate.  We were also excited to visit Sault Sainte Marie and experience the town where Lake Huron and Lake Superior meet!

Daniel Sees: Manitoulin Island

Daniel Sees: Manitoulin Island

My Grandma and Papa stayed at a place called Cedar Lodge that had a pond.  I saw 2 types of frogs: a tree frog and a tiger frog.  The frogs were green and gold with black spots.  I also saw a crawdad when I was fishing with my Papa and Dad.  We used the crawdad for bate, but we didn’t catch anything.

I had lots of good food!  I had a pizza, steak, a big hot dog, ice cream, and a cheeseburger.  My favorite was the steak because it was juicy and my Papa and Dad made it perfect!  The people at my Grandma and Papa’s place let us use the grill in there garden to make it.  It was from Manitoulin Meats.

Experiencing Parry Sound And The Georgian Bay

Experiencing Parry Sound And The Georgian Bay

We’ve heard a lot of stories about the Georgian Bay from our fathers and their friends who fish together.  For as long as we can remember, someone was headed to the area in the fall to fish.  We always heard that it’s very remote.  We weren’t sure what to expect, but wanted to see for ourselves!
