Beyond Measure: The Big Impact of Small Changes (TED book) by Margaret Heffernan packs a ton of information into a very quick read. There are two messages throughout the book… One message is about small changes that shift culture and make big changes within organizations. The other message is that the strongest organizations embrace conflict as a creative catalyst, use every mind on the team, celebrate mistakes, encourage people to speak up and listen more, and encourage time off from work. Though this book specifically looks at for-profit organizational culture, it's principles are useful for all organizations that we're part of from community groups to not-for-profits to religious organizations.
